Jamshedpur, Nov 5 : Amidst rising political ‘heat’ a big news is emerging out in Kolhan.
BJP’s state unit has expelled four rebel leaders from the party for six years as they decided to contest the Assembly polls as independent candidates , after failing to tget party tickets.
Till the withdrawal of nominations, it was expected that they would withdraw their names, but this did not happen.
According to party insiders the BJP high command had asked the four rebel leaders to work in favour of the part’s official nominee, Purnima Das Sahu, by withdrawing their nomination in her favour.
As the rebel leaders failed to budge the party state leadership was promoted to take this extreme step by expelling them.
Among the BJP leaders against whom action was taken included Zila Parishad member and former state vice president of BJP Kisan Morcha Rajkumar Singh and Shiv Shankar Singh of BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar .
Raghuvar Das’s daughter-in-law Purnima Das Sahu is contesting from here as the official candidate of BJP.
In Jamshedpur West BJP leader Vikas Singh announced to contest independently asserting his ability to defeat health minister Banna Gupta .
The BJP alliance partner Janata Dal (U) has nominated Sarayu Roy said as their candidate for this communally polarized constituency.
Similarly, NDA alliance partner AJSU has fielded Ramchandra Sahis from Jugsalai assembly and BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha state vice president Vimal Baitha is contesting as an independent candidate.
Baitha and Vikas Singh too were expelled along with Raj Kumar Singh and Shiv Shankar Singh
BJP state general secretary Pradeep Verma has written a letter to all the four rebel leaders in this regard informing them about the expulsion from the party for six years.
In his letter Verma said that the action is being taken on the charges of contesting elections against the party’s official candidate and indiscipline.
