
UditVani, New Delhi : The Tribal Business Conclave 2025 concluded at Yashobhoomi, Dwarka, marking a landmark moment in India’s journey toward inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
Organized jointly by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Culture, the event brought together over 250 tribal entrepreneurs, 150 exhibitors, and 100 startups from across the country.

Held as part of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the conclave celebrated the innovation, resilience, and enterprise of India’s tribal communities.
The event saw the participation of Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram, and Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uikey, alongside senior officials, investors, and industry leaders.

In his address, Piyush Goyal emphasized that empowering tribal entrepreneurs was central to the government’s vision of “Local Goes Global.” He highlighted key initiatives such as the establishment of 3,900 Van Dhan Kendras, Rs 24,000 crore allocation under PM JANMAN Yojana, and the reduction of GI tag fees to Rs 1,000, underscoring the government’s commitment to tribal prosperity.
Jual Oram noted that tribal regions hold immense potential in forest-based industries, handicrafts, and traditional products.
Among the major announcements were the launch of the Gramya Yuva Arth Niti (GYAN) Lab—a collaborative public policy lab by IIT Bombay and PRAYOGI Foundation to develop scalable models for rural and tribal enterprises—and the Tribal Affairs Grand Challenge, inviting startups to design innovative, high-impact solutions for tribal communities.
The “Roots to Rise” pitching platform connected tribal entrepreneurs with investors, resulting in over Rs 10 crore worth of investment interest and the creation of more than 10,000 indirect jobs.
Additionally, the conclave saw the distribution of new Geographical Indication (GI) certificates to tribal crafts and products from states including Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand, enhancing brand visibility for indigenous artisans.
With vibrant cultural showcases, expert panel discussions, and buyer-seller meets, the conclave stood as a powerful testament to India’s tribal enterprise revolution—where tradition meets technology and heritage fuels innovation.
The Tribal Business Conclave 2025 reaffirmed India’s commitment to Viksit Bharat @2047, ensuring that tribal creativity, wisdom, and enterprise remain central to the nation’s growth story.
