
UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a major crackdown at the Rasunchopa checkpoint on the Jharkhand-Odisha border, authorities seized Rs 10.4 lakh from a vehicle traveling from Rairangpur to Jamshedpur.
The cash was confiscated by the on-duty magistrate, and further legal action is underway.
Rural SP Rishabh Garg, who inspected the checkpoint, directed officials to intensify the verification drive and ensure that every vehicle entering from Odisha is thoroughly checked to maintain peace during the Ghatshila-45 by-election.
He also issued additional instructions to strengthen the monitoring process.
This follows a previous seizure of Rs 12,28,400 at the same checkpoint on October 13.
With the latest recovery, authorities have confiscated a total of Rs 22,68,400 so far.
The operation was conducted in the presence of Kowali police station in-charge Dhananjay Kumar Paswan and his team.
