UditVani, Jamshedpur: The pre-school children of Greenfield Sanskarshala, from its Kadma and Sonari branches, mesmerised the audience with their annual cultural programme “Kalchakra – Immortal Tales of the Four Yugas” at the XLRI Auditorium on Tuesday evening.
The programme, which began at 5:30 pm, showcased the innocence, creativity and boundless energy of the young performers, who beautifully narrated stories from Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapar Yuga and Kali Yuga through dance, drama and music.
The event was graced by chief guests Harvinder Kaur, Vice-Principal of Narbheram Hansraj English School, and Ratnabali Sengupta, former senior faculty member of DBMS English School and JH Tarapore School.
Both guests praised the children’s confident performances and appreciated the school’s efforts in blending cultural heritage with early education.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Ekta Agarwal said the annual cultural programme is not only a platform to nurture creativity and confidence among children but also a meaningful way to introduce them to moral values, social learning and India’s rich cultural traditions.
The evening opened with a graceful Saraswati Vandana, seeking blessings of knowledge and learning.
This was followed by the Satya Yuga segment, where children depicted the creation of the universe through the Tridev—Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh—along with the inspiring tale of Prahlad and Narasimha. The segment concluded with a vibrant Holika Utsav dance by playgroup students, filling the stage with colour and joy.
In the Treta Yuga presentation, children portrayed the ideals of Lord Ram, highlighting righteousness, discipline and moral conduct. A Diwali-themed dance with sparkling diyas and phuljharis became a visual highlight for the audience.
The Dwapar Yuga segment brought alive the childhood leelas of Lord Krishna, from his birth and playful moments in Vrindavan to lifting the Govardhan Parvat and the touching friendship of Krishna and Sudama.
The performances conveyed a heartfelt message on friendship and true bonds.
The final Kali Yuga segment reflected modern times, delivering a message of finding happiness and positivity even amid challenges.
Performances like “Itni Si Hansi, Itni Si Khushi” and “Hum Bachche Naye Zamane Ke” symbolised new-age thinking and youthful optimism.
The programme concluded amid loud applause, with parents and guests lauding the young performers for their confidence, charm and expressive storytelling that brought the timeless lessons of the four Yugas to life.
