
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Chowka police station of the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district has brought laurels to Jharkhand by securing the fourth position at the national level and emerging as the best-ranked police station in the state in the Ranking of Police Stations–2025, released by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India.
The ranking is part of an annual evaluation conducted by the MHA to assess the performance of police stations across the country. Based on a detailed and scientific assessment, the top ten police stations in India are identified and ranked.
The latest results were formally announced at the annual DGsP/IGsP Conference, recently held in Raipur.
For the 2025 survey, an independent agency carried out extensive field-level inspections and data analysis.
The evaluation covered a wide range of parameters, including the CCTNS database, crime trends, handling of cases related to women and vulnerable sections, rate of case disposal and charge-sheeting, quality of infrastructure and cleanliness, availability of IT and forensic resources, maintenance of digital records, communication systems, citizen feedback, proactive policing initiatives, and the overall conduct and behaviour of police personnel.
Out of more than 18,000 police stations nationwide, Chowka police station’s impressive national ranking reflects its commitment to professional, disciplined, and citizen-focused policing, in line with its guiding principle of “Service is the Goal.”
Superintendent of Police, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, congratulated the then Station House Officer Bajrang Mahto along with all officers and personnel of Chowka police station for the achievement.
He described the recognition as a proud moment for the district and a significant milestone for Jharkhand.
The SP stated that the honour is the result of the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of the entire district police force and underlines the growing efficiency and credibility of the Jharkhand Police at the national level.
He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to continue delivering responsive, transparent, and people-centric policing, while thanking citizens for their continued cooperation and support.
