UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand woke up to an intense winter chill as Kanke (Ranchi) recorded a frigid minimum temperature of 3.2°C, the lowest in the state over the past 24 hours.
The sharp dip has triggered cold wave conditions in isolated pockets of Central Jharkhand, marking one of the season’s coldest spells so far.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, no significant synoptic weather system currently prevails over the state.
However, north-westerly winds blowing through the lower tropospheric levels continue to dominate Jharkhand’s weather pattern, keeping conditions dry and significantly cold.
While nights turned icy, daytime temperatures remained moderate. Chaibasa registered the state’s highest maximum temperature at 29.4°C, offering some relief during the afternoon hours.
With the cold wave likely to persist, residents—particularly in Ranchi and the central districts—are advised to brace for harsher mornings and nights as Jharkhand steadily descends into peak winter.
