UditVani, Jamshedpur: The winter chill has begun to make its presence felt in Jharkhand, with temperatures dipping noticeably across several districts.
The Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, reported that dry weather prevailed throughout the state during the past 24 hours, accompanied by north-westerly to northerly winds in the lower tropospheric levels — a sign of the approaching winter season.
Gumla recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 8.5°C, while Chaibasa registered the highest maximum temperature at 30.8°C.
The sharp contrast between day and night temperatures reflects the clear skies and dry air dominating Jharkhand’s weather.
According to the forecast, cold wave conditions are likely to occur in isolated pockets of Hazaribagh, Koderma, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Garhwa, Chatra, East and West Singhbhum, Sahebganj, Pakur, Godda, Palamu, Latehar, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Lohardaga, Gumla, Khunti, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and Simdega on November 12, particularly in areas adjoining north Chhattisgarh.
The Met department has advised residents to prepare for cold mornings and evenings over the next few days as the dry, chilly winds from the northwest continue to tighten their grip across Jharkhand.
