
UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jharkhand’s young climbers put up an impressive show at the IFSC Asian Kids Sport Climbing Championship, held recently in Pune, showcasing their strength and talent against top competitors from across the continent.
In the Youth D (Speed) category, Akash Soren clinched the gold medal, while Shankar Singh Kuntiya bagged the silver, and Mora Buruli secured the bronze, marking a clean sweep for the Indian contingent. Shankar Singh Kuntiya also added another feather to his cap by finishing second in the Youth D Boulder event.
Among the girls, Manisha Hansda earned the silver medal in Youth D Speed, while in the Youth C Speed category, Sudarshan Murmu took home the gold medal, further boosting the tally for the team.
The championship witnessed participation from 30 Indian climbers, including 13 from Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF), who represented the country with distinction. Their performance once again highlighted the growing prominence of Jharkhand’s climbers on the national and Asian stage.
