UditVani, Jamshedpur : After several days of dry and pleasant weather, Jharkhand is likely to witness a gradual shift in atmospheric conditions as the week progresses, according to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weather on Tuesday (October 22) began with light fog and mist in the morning hours, followed by clear skies and dry conditions across most parts of the state.
Similar patterns are expected on Wednesday (October 23), when morning fog or mist may occur, giving way to partly cloudy skies later in the day.
Overall, the IMD has predicted dry weather to persist across Jharkhand during these two days.
A change is expected to begin from Thursday (October 24), as partly cloudy skies may develop, accompanied by light rain or isolated thunderstorms in southern and adjoining central districts.
The rest of the state, however, is likely to remain dry.
By Friday (October 25), the sky is forecast to turn generally cloudy, and light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are likely at a few locations, marking the first significant shift in weather conditions after a prolonged dry spell.
Meteorologists said that no major synoptic system currently influences the state’s weather.
However, an upper air cyclonic circulation has been observed over the south Andaman Sea and adjoining areas, extending up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level.
This system could gradually influence weather patterns over eastern India, including Jharkhand, in the coming days.
The IMD’s 24-hour report confirmed that dry weather prevailed across the state during the previous day.
Temperatures remained within the seasonal average, with cool mornings and comfortable afternoons giving residents a brief respite before the expected shift to cloudy and wetter conditions later this week.
