UditVani,Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur FC have announced the signing of Serbian midfielder/attacker Nikola Stojanović, marking their sixth foreign recruit ahead of the upcoming Super Cup.
The 30-year-old joins the Men of Steel following a standout spell at Inter Kashi, where he led the midfield and attack, frequently delivering match‑deciding set-pieces and ending the season as the team’s top performer, guiding them to the I-League title.
Stojanović’s senior career spans clubs like Ergotelis, Sinđelić Beograd, OFK Beograd, Sloboda Užice, Minsk, Sparta, Bačka, Dečić, and Petrovac. In India, he made 30 league appearances for Mohammedan SC (2021–23), scoring five goals, and later netted four times in eight matches for Gokulam Kerala (2023–24) before his stint at Inter Kashi.
A possession-oriented attacking midfielder, Stojanović thrives between the lines, blending secure link-up play with incisive final touches. He excels as an advanced midfielder or second striker, creating opportunities through half-space movements, tight triangles, and late runs into the box. Renowned for his set-piece expertise, he delivers precise free-kicks, outswinging corners, and dangerous near-post deliveries.
Head coach Steven Dias welcomed him, saying, “Nikola is a proven winner and a creative force in midfield. His vision and leadership make him a perfect fit for our system. He adds quality in attack and experience that can help us push for trophies.”
Expressing his excitement, Stojanović stated, “I’m thrilled to join Jamshedpur FC. The club has strong ambitions, passionate fans, and a clear vision under Coach Steven Dias. I aim to create, score, and help the team win silverware.”
Stojanović completes Jamshedpur FC’s six-foreigner quota alongside Rei Tachikawa, Stephen Eze, Messi Bouli, Lazar Cirković, and Madih Talal. With his creativity, tactical intelligence, and set-piece threat, he bolsters JFC’s bid to convert last season’s Super Cup runners-up finish into silverware.
