UditVani,Jamshedpur: The monsoon curtain has officially fallen across India, marking the onset of a cooler, drier spell.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) confirmed the complete withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon from the entire country on October 16, paving the way for an early arrival of winter in Jharkhand.
According to the IMD’s forecast, partly cloudy skies are likely to prevail over the southern and central parts of Jharkhand on October 17 and 19, accompanied by dry weather conditions statewide.
However, on October 20, the weather may take a brief turn, with a possibility of rain or thunderstorms in some parts of the state due to changing upper air patterns.
A cyclonic circulation currently lies over north Jharkhand and adjoining areas at around 3.1 km above mean sea level. This system is expected to influence local weather conditions for a short period before weakening.
With the monsoon’s retreat, humidity levels are gradually declining, and the mercury is expected to dip steadily over the coming days.
Meteorologists indicate that early morning and late-night temperatures will start to fall noticeably after October 20, particularly across plateau regions such as Ranchi, Hazaribagh, and Chaibasa.
Weather experts suggest that Jharkhand may experience an early onset of winter this year, with a sharper decline in minimum temperatures expected by the first week of November.
As days turn pleasant and nights cooler, residents are advised to prepare for the seasonal transition.
