
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Panic gripped Mango Post Office Road on Saturday evening when a LPG gas cylinder exploded inside Rasrang Mithai Shop at Awas Plaza.
The powerful blast shook nearby buildings and sparked chaos in the area. One employee sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where his condition is critical.

Eyewitnesses reported that around 5 PM, the shop was operating as usual when a cylinder suddenly detonated. Moments later, a second cylinder exploded, causing part of the shop’s rear wall to collapse and flames to engulf the premises. The blasts shattered windows of surrounding shops and forced people to flee for safety.
Firefighters quickly reached the scene and contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to neighboring establishments.
Police have started investigating the incident, questioning the shop owner and examining potential safety lapses.
Local residents expressed concern over the frequent crowds at the shop and warned that the incident could have been far deadlier if it had occurred during peak hours.
They are urging authorities to enforce strict safety checks on gas cylinders in all food establishments.
The injured employee remains under medical supervision, while the incident has raised urgent questions about fire safety and public security in the area.
