
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand is set to witness continued rainfall over the next few days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ranchi Centre forecasting light to moderate rain and thundershowers across the state.
On September 19, rainfall activity will remain confined to a few pockets. However, between September 20 and 22, showers are likely at many places, followed by a wet spell continuing on September 23 and 24.
The southwest monsoon withdrawal line currently passes through Amritsar, Bathinda, Fatehabad, Pilani, Ajmer, Deesa, Bhuj, and 23°N/68°E.
Meanwhile, an upper-air cyclonic circulation over east Bihar and adjoining areas, extending up to 1.5 Km above mean sea level, is influencing Jharkhand’s weather pattern.
During the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in many districts. Ramgarh DVC (Ramgarh district) received the state’s highest rainfall at 26.6 mm.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 34.1°C in Seraikela, while the minimum dipped to 21°C in Latehar.
With the monsoon remaining normal over Jharkhand, the fresh spell of showers is expected to bring relief from the prevailing heat while boosting ongoing agricultural activities.
