
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The prestigious Prof. S.N. Sinha Memorial Quiz for school students of Classes XI and XII will be organized on August 8, , at the CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) premises in Burma Mines, Jamshedpur.
The quiz, focusing on metals and materials science, will see participation from high school students across the city.
Each team will consist of two members, and schools have already been contacted to nominate their students for this academic event.
Pathway to National-Level Quiz at Kalpakkam
The winning and runner-up teams from this Jamshedpur round will earn the opportunity to represent the city in the Prof. Brahma Prakash Memorial Quiz (BPMMQ-2025), scheduled to be held at Kalpakkam on September 12-13.
All travel expenses will be sponsored by the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), Jamshedpur Chapter, while IIM Kalpakkam Chapter will provide accommodation.
During their visit, students will also get a rare chance to tour the national fast breeder reactor facilities and gain exposure to India’s advancements in nuclear science and technology.
Awards and Recognition
Apart from participating in the national-level competition, the top two teams will receive cash prizes at the valedictory function of BPMMQ-2025 in Kalpakkam.
They will also be invited to attend the IIM Awards Ceremony during the IIM Annual Technical Meeting 2025 at IIT Hyderabad in December, where they will be felicitated with certificates and cash rewards in recognition of their achievement.
This annual quiz aims to foster scientific curiosity, competitive spirit, and a deeper understanding of materials science among young minds.
