Jamshedpur: President Droupadi Murmu’s planned visit to Deoghar has been officially postponed, according to a communication from Rashtrapati Bhavan to the district administration and senior state officials on Friday evening.
As a result, her scheduled arrival in Deoghar on June 10 will no longer take place.
The President was slated to attend the convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Deoghar, on June 11.
Prior to the event, she was also expected to offer prayers at the revered Baba Baidyanath Dham temple — one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a major pilgrimage site in Jharkhand.
Authorities have confirmed that the new date for the convocation ceremony will be determined once an updated itinerary for the President’s visit is finalized. The administration and AIIMS officials are now awaiting further guidance from Rashtrapati Bhavan regarding the rescheduling.
Stay tuned for updates as the revised plans are announced.
