Jamshedpur : A 33-year-old private bank employee, Abhishek Kumar Sinha, allegedly died after commiting suicide at his residence in Anand Vihar Duplex, Mango, early Wednesday morning.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the locality.
Family members found Abhishek hanging in his room and rushed him to MGM Hospital, where he was declared dead. According to relatives, he had a dispute with his wife late Tuesday night — just six months after their marriage. The couple had been living in a rented flat.
Originally from a close-knit family, Abhishek was the elder of two sons and a support system for his parents. Neighbours described him as warm and well-mannered, making the news even more distressing.
Mango police have launched an investigation. While no suicide note has been found, initial findings suggest domestic issues as a possible reason. Authorities are examining his phone and belongings, and further clarity is expected after the postmortem report.
The incident has reignited concerns about rising mental stress among young couples and the need for better emotional support systems. Abhishek’s last rites will be performed on Thursday at Swarnarekha Ghat, Sakchi.
