Jamshedpur : In observance of the International Day of Action for Women’s Health on May 28, Jamshedpur is set to witness a transformative event titled ‘Periods aur Parivartan: A Menstrual Health Dialogue’, aiming to spark open and inclusive conversations around menstruation.
Organized by Femfuture Collective, a nonprofit championing sexual and reproductive health, in collaboration with the Koru Foundation, which works on environmental and social justice, the event will take place at JFC Lounge from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm.
Targeted at youth aged 15 to 30, the event will feature:
* Panel discussions with experts on menstrual education in rural Jharkhand
* Art workshops, storytelling labs, and interactive games
* Quizzes and video-led sessions designed to foster learning in a stigma-free environment
“Menstruation is a normal biological process — yet for many, it remains surrounded by shame and silence,” said Nitisha, Founder of Femfuture Collective adding that the event aims to break those barriers and pave the way for a gender-equitable future.
Garima, Founder of Koru Foundation, emphasized the interconnectedness of menstrual and environmental health. “Our goal is to create safe, empathetic spaces where young people can learn and lead change,” she said.
The initiative is supported by outreach partners Humans of Jamshedpur and SIGMA-oikos, who are actively promoting the event across the city.
