Jamshedpur : A tense battle awaits at the SAI Ground in Guwahati as Jamshedpur FC U-17 gear up to take on Muthoot Football Academy in a decisive Group ‘D’ showdown of the AIFF U-17 Elite Youth League Final Round on May 7. Kick-off is set for 3.30 pm.
Both teams are level on four points after two matches, with Jamshedpur FC holding a slender advantage atop the table thanks to goal difference.
A draw would see both sides advance to the quarterfinals, but with top spot and momentum on the line, a full-blooded contest is expected.
Jamshedpur FC arrive with confidence after edging Corbett FC 1-0 in a dramatic finish, courtesy of a last-minute penalty by Lawmsangzuala.
The team showed grit playing with ten men following the red card to Soumik Das. Earlier, they had drawn 1-1 with Classic Football Academy.
Muthoot FA, meanwhile, opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Corbett FC before notching a 1-0 win over Classic FA in their second fixture.
JFC head coach Kaizad Ambapardiwalla emphasized the need for calm heading into the crunch tie. “We’ve shown resilience and maturity so far. The boys are focused, and we aim to continue our momentum,” he said.
