Jamshedpur : Jamshedpur FC Reserves are set to compete in the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) National Group Stage from March 23 onward after an impressive campaign in the Northeast Zonal Round.
The young squad, featuring a majority of Under-17 and Under-18 players, secured their historic qualification with a third-place finish in the zonal stage, marking the first time Jamshedpur FC has reached this level of the competition.
The National Group Stage will take place at Reliance Corporate Park (RCP) in Navi Mumbai, where Jamshedpur FC has been drawn into Group A alongside East Bengal FC, Kickstart FC, NorthEast United FC, FC Goa, and Diamond Harbour FC.
The team will play five matches in their bid to qualify for the knockout rounds.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, Jamshedpur FC Reserves head coach Kaizad Ambapardiwala expressed confidence in his team’s ability to compete at the national level.
“Qualifying for the National Leg for the first time in the club’s history is a proud moment for everyone involved. The boys have shown incredible resilience and maturity despite being one of the youngest squads in the tournament. This is a big opportunity for them to test themselves against some of the best youth teams in the country, and we are eager to make our mark.
The focus remains on development, but we are here to compete and give our best in every game,” he said.
The team will travel to Mumbai on March 21. The matches are live on @RFYouthsports YouTube channel.
