Jamshedpur : Incidents of theft and burglary is on the rise in steel city.
The latest incident took place at the Khadia Basti under Ulidih police station area in Mango, where the thieves targeted a closed house and burgled cash and other valuables worth Rs 2.50 lakhs.
According to information, Rajneesh Singh, a resident of Khadia Basti, alongwith his family, went to Muzaffarpur in Bihar to attend his niece’s wedding on February 25.
When he returned this morning , he was surprised to see his house burgled.
The burglers broke the window of the rear and entered the house and stole about 2.50 lakh jewelery and cash kept in the cupboard.
On getting information about the incident, the local police reached the spot and started investigation.
The police have inspected the spot and gathered necessary evidences. Also, CCTV footages were taken for investigation.
Santosh Bhagat, the representative of MLA Saryu Roy also reached the spot and assured the victim’s family that the police would take necessary action.
Significantly, thieves are on the prowl as they are constantly targeting closed houses.
There have been several theft and burglary incidents in the last few months, but in most cases the police failed to get any break through.
A resentment was prevailing among the local people over the burglary incident at Ulidih.
Though police assured that the culprits would be booked soon.
