UditVani Jamshedpur : Tata Main Hospital organised a walkathon today to mark World AIDS Day.
The event began at 6.30 am near the Founder’s statue, located within the hospital premises, and covered a route of 2 – Km.
Chanakya Chaudhary , Vice- president ( Corporate Services) , Tata Steel was the chief guest.
The event highlighted the global theme “My Health, My Right.”
The walkathon , which was open for all, saw overwhelming participation, across different age categories joining the celebration of fitness and well-being.
The enthusiasm and energy of the participants were palpable as they walked through the designated route, reflecting the spirit of sportsmanship and the importance of staying active.
The walkathon created awareness about HIV/AIDS while encouraging community participation.
Students also carried placards creating awareness on AIDS. A Nukkad Natak ( street corner play ) was also organised.
World AIDS Day is observed on December 1 to unite people worldwide in the fight against HIV/AIDS and support those living with the disease.
This year’s theme, “Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right,” focuses on ensuring access to healthcare and eliminating barriers to treatment.
Tata Main Hospital regularly organises health events that emphasize preventive care and public health education.
By participating in this event, people contributed to spreading awareness about HIV prevention and care.
