
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre at Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi, on Thursday released its realised weather report based on surface observations recorded at 08.30 am, indicating that temperatures across Jharkhand remained above normal while the state continued to experience dry weather conditions.
Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 26.8 degrees Celsius, which was 2.5 degrees above the seasonal average, while the minimum temperature settled at 15.1 degrees Celsius, marking a significant departure of 5.4 degrees above normal.
Jamshedpur witnessed warmer conditions with the maximum temperature rising to 29.5 degrees Celsius, also 2.5 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 16.2 degrees Celsius, nearly five degrees above the average.
Daltonganj reported a maximum temperature of 28.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 11.6 degrees Celsius, both slightly above normal, while Bokaro (Thermal) saw temperatures ranging between 27.5 degrees Celsius and 15.1 degrees Celsius.
Chaibasa (PTO) emerged as the warmest location in the state, recording the highest maximum temperature of 30.8 degrees Celsius, which stood 4.2 degrees above normal.
The lowest minimum temperature across the state was observed at Ranchi AMFU (Kanke), where the mercury dipped to 10.8 degrees Celsius.
No rainfall was recorded at any station across Jharkhand during the past 24 hours, and fog conditions remained absent.
The lowest visibility of 1,000 metres was reported at the Jamshedpur Meteorological Office.
Data from automated weather stations across several districts further confirmed the trend of above-normal temperatures, with maximum readings largely hovering between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures mostly ranging from 11 to 14 degrees Celsius.
Overall, the prevailing conditions indicate a continuation of dry weather accompanied by relatively warmer winter temperatures across the state.
