
UditVani, Jamshedpur: A profound sense of grief and reverence marked the final rites of Late K. P. G. Nair, the esteemed Chairman of Kerala Samajam, whose enduring contributions to education and society have left an indelible legacy.
The last rites were solemnly performed at Parvati Ghat in Bistupur, where a large gathering assembled to bid an emotional farewell to a man widely respected for his vision, leadership, and compassion.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of numerous dignitaries, well-wishers, alumni members, and staff, all united in mourning the loss of a towering personality.
Among those present were Sharat Chandran of KPS Group, Gyan Taneja, representatives from Tata Steel, and prominent worker union leaders including Raghu nath Pandey.
The occasion also saw participation from principals of various schools, along with Nandani Shukla, Director of Kerala Samajam Model School, accompanied by her spouse, trustees, and board members.
Representing the KSMS institution were Rina Banerjee, Principal, and Al Abraham, Vice Principal, alongside a large number of staff members.
The KSMS Alumni Association was strongly represented by its President Manish Kumar Choudhary, Vice President V. Murali Manohar, Treasurer Deepak Puri, and several other alumni members.
In total, nearly 300 people gathered at the burning ghat, reflecting the immense respect and admiration KPG Nair commanded across all sections of society.
A particularly moving moment was the solemn guard of honour presented by the Scouts and Guides team of KSMS, symbolizing the deep gratitude and respect of the institution he so passionately nurtured.
The final rites were performed by his younger daughter in the presence of close family members, including his spouse and both daughters, creating an atmosphere of profound emotion and quiet dignity.

As prayers were offered and tributes paid, the air was heavy with sorrow, yet filled with gratitude for a life that touched countless others.
Late Nair’s unwavering commitment to education, his guiding vision, and his humane leadership will continue to inspire generations to come.
“He was not just a leader, but a guiding light whose vision transformed lives and built futures. His legacy will live on in every student he inspired, ” said Manish Choudhary.
Another senior teacher of KSMS said, “Though he is no longer with us, his values, vision, and contributions will continue to shape our institution and society for years to come. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
KPG Nair died during the course of treatment at the Tata Main Hospital on March 17.
The chairman’s post is currently lying vacant. The post would be filled only after an election.
