Jamshedpur : The state is set to experience a spell of unstable weather conditions over the next few days, with thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and gusty winds forecasted across various regions.
According to the Meteorological Department, on April 15, hail accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds with speeds reaching 50-60 Kmph is likely to occur at isolated places in the south-eastern, adjoining central, and north-eastern parts of the state.
Additionally, thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds of 40-50 kmph are expected in the western and north-eastern parts.
The stormy conditions are expected to persist. On April 16 and 17, thunderstorms and lightning with gusty winds up to 40-50 Kmph are likely to affect most parts of the state, excluding the western region on April 17.
The same conditions are expected to continue across the entire state on April 18.
This turbulent weather is attributed to a Western Disturbance lying as a trough in the middle to upper tropospheric levels with its axis at 5.8 Km above mean sea level, currently extending along longitude 83°E north of latitude 20°N.
A trough from a cyclonic circulation over northeast Madhya Pradesh to south coastal Odisha, traversing through Chhattisgarh, at 1.5 Km above mean sea level, is also influencing the weather pattern.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, especially during periods of thunderstorm activity, and stay updated with the latest alerts from the weather department.
