UditVani, Jamshedpur : South Eastern Railway (SER) has announced a series of train cancellations, short terminations, and curtailed operations from December 2025 to March 2026, citing planned maintenance work and expected foggy conditions across northern routes during winter.
Trains Cancelled for Maintenance Work
To facilitate essential maintenance, several passenger and express trains will remain cancelled between Dec 10, 2025, and Jan 7, 2026. The affected services include:
18602/18601 Hatia–Tata–Hatia Express
58663/58664 Hatia–Shanki–Hatia Passenger
58034/58033 Ranchi–Bokaro Steel City–Ranchi Passenger
18035/18036 Kharagpur–Ranchi–Kharagpur Express
13303/13304 Dumka–Dhanbad Express
68035/68036 Tata–Hatia–Tata MEMU
Short-Term Operations on Select Routes
Some trains will operate on shorter routes during the same period to ease congestion and accommodate ongoing maintenance. These include:
13503/13504 Barddhaman–Hatia–Barddhaman Express (short-terminated between Bokaro and Hatia)
63598/63597 Asansol–Ranchi–Asansol MEMU and 18035/18036 Kharagpur–Ranchi–Kharagpur Express (Muri–Ranchi section affected)
13513/13514 Asansol–Hatia–Asansol Express (short-terminated at Hatia)
These changes will remain effective from Dec 10, 2025, to Jan 8, 2026, depending on the train schedule.
Cancellations Due to Foggy Weather
With dense fog expected during the peak winter months, SER will also suspend several long-distance trains between December 2025 and February 2026 for operational safety.
The affected services are:
1. 12873 Hatia–Anand Vihar Terminal Express (Dec 1, 2025 – Feb 26, 2026)
2. 12874 Anand Vihar Terminal–Hatia Express (Dec 2, 2025 – Feb 27, 2026)
3. 22857 Santragachi–Anand Vihar Terminal Express (Dec 1, 2025 – Mar 2, 2026)
4. 22858 Anand Vihar Terminal–Santragachi Express (Dec 2, 2025 – Mar 3, 2026)
5. 18103 Tatanagar–Amritsar Express (Dec 1, 2025 – Feb 25, 2026)
6. 18104 Amritsar–Tatanagar Express (Dec 3, 2025 – Feb 27, 2026)
Railway officials have advised passengers to verify train timings and cancellations in advance through official sources and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
