Jamshedpur : A gentle prelude to the monsoon is unfolding, with sporadic rainfall and isolated thunderstorms forecast across various pockets of the state in the coming days, according to the latest meteorological outlook.
On June 7, brief spells of light rain or thundershowers are likely over eastern and adjoining central regions. By June 9, this wet pattern will expand to most parts of the state, sparing only the northwestern belt.
From June 10 through 12, the rainfall is expected to gain modest strength, bringing light to moderate showers at several locations. The trend is likely to persist into the following two days, maintaining a rhythm of intermittent precipitation.
Atmospheric Dynamics at Play:
The northern limit of the southwest monsoon continues its sluggish northward march, currently extending from the Arabian Sea through Mumbai, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, and Puri, up to Balurghat and beyond.
A mid to upper-level trough, situated around Longitude 83°E north of Latitude 20°N, at 5.8 km altitude, is influencing regional weather patterns. Meanwhile, an upper air cyclonic circulation over northwest Uttar Pradesh, extending up to 1.5 Km above sea level, is also contributing to localized convective activity.
As these systems interact, they set the stage for a gradual but steady onset of the monsoon, bringing much-needed relief from the lingering summer heat.
