
UditVani, Jamshedpur : A review meeting on the progress of development projects being executed under various funding sources was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Paswan, following the directions of the Deputy Commissioner.
The meeting, held at the collectorate auditorium, assessed the implementation status of projects funded through Untied Funds, DMFT, NITI Aayog Fund, MP/MLA Local Area Development Funds, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
During the meeting, progress of several infrastructure and public welfare projects was reviewed, including the construction of bridges and culverts, approach roads, PCC roads, drinking water and water supply schemes, additional classrooms in schools, toilets, and culvert structures.
Officials were directed to ensure the timely completion of projects and to submit technical inspection reports in cases where work is hindered.
The Deputy Development Commissioner noted that some projects have exceeded their stipulated timelines and instructed the concerned engineers to coordinate with relevant departments to remove bottlenecks and ensure prompt execution on the ground.
Strict action was also directed against contractors found negligent in their responsibilities.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of 200 model Anganwadi centres being constructed with funds received from NITI Aayog.
Officials were instructed to verify the completed work and release payments to the executing agencies as per rules.
Additionally, initiatives such as sal leaf plate and cup production units, strengthening of model Anganwadi centres in tribal-dominated areas, food carts for transgender persons and women, establishment of library-cum-resource centres, and construction of kitchen facilities in government schools were also discussed and assessed.
Under the CSR initiative, the executing agency was directed to complete the installation of 100 hand pumps by mid-April to ensure adequate drinking water supply for residents.
The progress of projects approved under the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT), particularly the construction of Anganwadi centres, was also reviewed.
Officials were instructed to expedite the completion of pending works, resolve land-related issues in coordination with the Circle Office, and ensure that newly approved projects complete the tendering process and agreements with contractors so that work can commence and be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
While reviewing projects funded under the MP and MLA Local Area Development Funds, the Deputy Development Commissioner emphasized the need to accelerate implementation.
He directed officials to complete the tendering process for approved schemes, initiate the works promptly, and submit utilization certificates for completed projects.
The meeting was attended by NEP Director Santosh Garg, In-charge District Planning Officer Sudipta Raj, and officials from NREP, Special Division, Building Construction Department, Zila Parishad, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, along with other concerned departments.
