
UditVani, Jamshedpur: The week-long National Safety Week celebrations concluded at the power generation plant of Adhunik Power & Natural Resources Limited (APNRL) in Padampur, with the Ash Handling Plant (AHP) department being declared the best for its outstanding implementation and adherence to safety measures.
The closing ceremony, organised at the company premises to mark the 55th National Safety Week, recognised employees, engineers and contractors who demonstrated exemplary commitment towards workplace safety.
Rajesh Mahto and Ruhiram Majhi were honoured as the most alert workers, while Kuldeep Mahto and Shivji Sharma were named the most safety-conscious engineers. Mandal Construction was awarded the title of Safety-Conscious Contractor.
Members of the safety department, Govindo Ghosh and Pradeep Singh, also received special recognition for their presence of mind in swiftly controlling a fire during an emergency.
Employees, contractors and children of staff members who performed well in various competitions held during the week were also felicitated.
The programme began with a safety pledge, followed by the hoisting of the safety flag.
Activities such as painting and safety slogan writing competitions were organised during the week, drawing enthusiastic participation.
Addressing employees online, Director Manoj Kumar Agrawal reiterated the message of “Safety First – Zero Accident.”
He emphasised that safety is the foremost responsibility of every employee and that a safe workplace creates a positive and productive environment.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chief Executive Officer Arun Kumar Mishra stressed that industrial safety must remain a top priority for any organisation.
He noted that strict implementation of safety measures not only protects employees, equipment and the environment but also improves the work atmosphere and enhances productivity, ultimately helping achieve the goal of zero accidents.
Senior company officials including M.N. Singh, Rajesh Kumar Sharma and N.S.P. Rao also shared their views on strengthening safety culture within the organisation.
The programme was conducted by Baljeet Sansoa, Head of Corporate Communications, while Amal Vaidya, Head of Operations, delivered the vote of thanks.
The successful organisation of the week-long programme was supported by the safety team, including Manoj Acharyi, Bidesh Bid, Prakash Dhar, Shraddhanjali Khatua, Vimal Mandal and other members.
This year’s National Safety Week was observed under the theme “Connect, Educate and Empower to Strengthen Safety,” announced by the National Safety Council, highlighting the importance of participation, awareness and empowerment in building a strong safety culture and reducing workplace accidents to zero.
