UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand is set to mark a historic milestone as it participates for the first time in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland to be held from January 19 to 23.
Adding a unique cultural dimension to the global event, the state’s traditional tribal greeting ‘Johar’ will resonate on the world stage, with Chief Minister Hemant Soren representing Jharkhand as an elected tribal leader.
Leading a high-level state delegation, the Chief Minister will showcase Jharkhand’s strengths in key sectors such as critical minerals and mining, electronics, electric vehicles, renewable energy, textiles, tourism, and forest-based industries.
The focus will be on highlighting the state’s readiness for sustainable industrial growth and its potential as an emerging investment destination.
The visit aims to project Jharkhand as an “Infinite Opportunity State”, aligned with its long-term Vision 2050.
The delegation will hold interactions with global business leaders and multinational companies to explore investment partnerships that can drive economic growth, employment generation, and technology transfer.
Jharkhand will have a dedicated presence at the India Pavilion, where only six states have been given space by the central government.
Participating under the theme “Growth in Harmony with Nature,” the state will emphasize balanced development that integrates economic expansion with environmental responsibility.
The WEF meeting is expected to bring together nearly 3,000 delegates from around 130 countries, including heads of state, policymakers, and industry leaders, making it a significant platform for global dialogue on new growth opportunities.
State officials believe Jharkhand’s debut at Davos will strengthen its global image, attract quality investments, and open new avenues for inclusive and sustainable development—marking a confident step onto the international economic stage.
