UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jharkhand is set to enjoy a spell of dry and comfortable weather over the next few days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting partly cloudy to mainly clear skies across most districts until October 18.
According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, southern and central parts of the state — including Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Chaibasa — will experience partly cloudy conditions through October 17, followed by mainly clear skies on October 18.
Rainfall activity is expected to remain absent during this period.
Upper Air Circulation over Jharkhand
A weak upper air cyclonic circulation persists over Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand, extending between 3.1 and 4.5 Km above mean sea level. Meteorologists say the system lacks sufficient moisture and intensity to cause any significant weather disturbance.
“The cyclonic circulation is shallow and not strong enough to produce rain. Jharkhand will continue to experience predominantly dry weather,” an IMD official said.
Dry Spell Continues
The state recorded mainly dry conditions during the past 24 hours, with no measurable rainfall reported anywhere. Daytime temperatures hovered close to normal, while mornings and evenings remained pleasant under mild cloud cover.
Outlook for the Week
The ongoing dry spell is likely to aid post-monsoon agricultural activities, particularly harvesting and field preparation. The IMD has advised farmers to plan irrigation schedules wisely, as no rainfall is expected in the coming days.
Light morning haze or fog may occur at isolated locations, but overall visibility and travel conditions will remain favourable.
