UditVani, Jamshedpur : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a series of weather advisories for Jharkhand, warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in various parts of the state over the next four days. This renewed spell of monsoon activity is attributed to a low-pressure area currently positioned over southern Jharkhand and its adjoining regions, accompanied by a cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level now runs through Suratgarh, Bhiwani, Aligarh, Banda, Daltonganj, the low-pressure center over southern Jharkhand, Digha, and onward into the northeast Bay of Bengal. Additionally, a trough extends from southwest Uttar Pradesh to the cyclonic circulation over southern Jharkhand, traversing north Madhya Pradesh and north Chhattisgarh at altitudes between 0.9 and 1.5 km above sea level.
These synoptic systems are expected to trigger significant rainfall and storm activity across the state.
Forecast Overview:
July 11 : Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over northwestern parts of Jharkhand. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30–40 Km/h) are expected at several locations.
July 12 : Thunderstorm and lightning activity is likely to occur at isolated places across the state.
July 13 : Isolated heavy rainfall is forecast over southwestern and adjoining areas, with thunderstorms expected statewide.
July 14 : Eastern districts may experience isolated heavy rain, along with thunderstorm and lightning activity in several areas.
Residents are advised to exercise caution, particularly in flood-prone and low-lying areas. Commuters should remain alert for possible waterlogging and traffic disruptions. Authorities may issue additional advisories as the system evolves.
