Udit Vani India is going to organize the much coveted and the greatest chess event of the world the 44th Chess Olympiad, from 28th July to 10th August, 2022 at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu under the leadership of Dr. Sanjay Kapoor & Bharat Singh Chauhan. A record 188 countries will participate in this Olympiad. In order to celebrate the first ever Chess Olympiad on Indian soil Sports Authority of India (SAI), along with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India and AICF in coordination with concerned State Government has arranged an Olympiad Torch Rally over 75 cities of India.
The Olympiad Torch will reach Ranchi via Gaya on Thursday, 7th July, 2022 at 7:00 AM. All chess lovers and enthusiasts of Jharkhand state to join this program to make it a grand success.
The program will start with the felicitation to the six players who got selected through a tournament held for under-15 School Children last month and an Exhibition of Simultaneous game by Grandmasters Saptarshi Roy Choudhury against young chess talents to celebrate the occasion. GM Satarshi will handover the sacred torch to the Chief Guest Hafizul Hasan, Minister of Tourism, Art Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs, Jharkhand. A cultural program has also been planned by NYKS with the help of the Art and Culture Department of Jharkhand.
The lone International Master of Jharkhand and Bihar region Neeraj Kumar Mishra will receive the torch from the Chief Guest and will proceed to Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi on way to the next destination, Kolkata.
