UditVani,Jamshedpur : Police have achieved a major breakthrough in the ₹30 lakh loot case involving businessman Saket Agrawal near the Gurudwara in Bistupur.
The main accused has been arrested from Punjab and was produced in a local court.
Following the court’s order, he has been sent on transit remand and will be brought to Jamshedpur by Wednesday.
Police sources confirmed that a significant portion of the looted money has also been recovered from the accused.
So far, five persons have been arrested in connection with the case. Officials believe that sustained interrogation of the key accused will help in unearthing the entire gang’s operations.
Investigations revealed that the mastermind behind the crime was an employee of a logistics company in Bistupur. The employee had been closely observing Agrawal’s routine, particularly his visits to HDFC Bank with cash-filled bags. He then conspired with a group of criminals, conducting surveillance on the businessman for about a week, mapping his route, schedule, and security patterns before executing the loot.
Police said that the gang had meticulously planned every step of the robbery. Following the incident, swift action led to the arrest of multiple gang members, including the mastermind.
Authorities stated that interrogation of the accused is ongoing and more details about the gang’s network are expected to emerge. Police are also identifying other possible associates for further action.
Officials believe the latest arrest will help dismantle the entire criminal network and prevent similar organized crimes in the future. A detailed investigation report will be shared with the public soon, with further arrests likely as new leads surface.
