Udit Vani, Jamshedpur: Tata Steel UISL, in collaboration with the Jharkhand Boxing Association, inaugurated the 17th Jharkhand State Elite (Men’s and Women’s) Boxing Championship 2024-25 on November 20 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. This two-day championship, featuring the state’s most promising boxing talents, will conclude on November 21, 2024.
Star-Studded Inauguration Ceremony
The event was graced by Tata Steel UISL Managing Director, Ritu Raj Sinha, as the Chief Guest. Other notable attendees included Anand Bihari Dubey, Secretary, Jharkhand Boxing Association , Mukul Vinayak Choudhary, Head of Sports, Tata Steel , Deepak Srivastava, Vice President, Jharkhand Boxing Association, and Head of Administration, OMQ and Rajeev Verma, Treasurer, Jharkhand Boxing Association.
Fierce Competition: 113 Participants from 15 Districts
The championship features two categories—Men’s and Women’s—with a total of 113 participants:
Men’s Category: 71 entries
Women’s Category: 42 entries
On the first day, 55 matches were held, including pre-quarterfinals and quarterfinals, showcasing intense competition.
Spotlight on Day One: Neha Tantubai Triumphs
In a thrilling final match, East Singhbhum’s Neha Tantubai clinched victory against Dhanbad’s Krishna Kumari, winning the title in her category. The remaining finals will be held on November 21, promising more spectacular performances.
