UditVani, Jamshedpur : Tata Steel’s 21-day summer camp at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur will kick- Off tomorrow, May 9.
Aimed at children aged 4 to 19, the camp promises a vibrant mix of sports training and life-skill development activities.
For the first time, a special category for children aged 4-6 has been introduced, offering engaging activities such as roller skating, athletics, kids’ Zumba, and football. The initiative reflects Tata Steel’s continued commitment to nurturing young talent and encouraging physical fitness from an early age.
The summer camp will also extend to various Tata Steel locations including Kalinganagar, Meramandali, Raw Material locations, Tata Steel Growth Shop, and Gamharia.
A wide range of sports will be covered including cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, athletics, swimming, archery, horse riding, and hockey.
Vibhuti Adesara, Head of Sports Events and Training Centres at Tata Steel, emphasized the inclusive nature of the camp.
In line with the company’s community development goals, 100 children from the Masti Ki Pathshala programme and 40 children from the SC/ST community will be sponsored to participate.
The camp also includes informative sessions on sensitive topics like ‘good touch and bad touch’, menstrual hygiene, and nutrition in sports. To ensure safety in the summer heat, water marshals and hydration stations will be available throughout the venue.
In a bid to make the experience more enriching, Tata Steel is offering attractive discount packages for children and their families at the Tata Zoological Park and Nicco Jubilee Park.
The summer camp represents a holistic approach to youth development, blending physical fitness with essential life skills and community engagement.
