UditVani, Jamshedpur: The second edition of Loyola Alumni Badminton Tournament kicked- off at the JRD Sports Complex badminton courts today.
The two- day tournament witnesses participation from Loyola alumni members and their spouses.
Loyola Alumni Association (LAA) president Fr Vincent Vinod Fernandes, Father Rector K.M Joseph , LAA Vice President Rajiv Talwar and other alumni members were present during the opening ceremony of the tournament.
The matches at the tournament is being played in various categories – Men’s Singles,Women Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
On the inaugural day today the tournament was played in a knockout format and all league games upto quarter
finals have been completed.
The semi-finals and finals will held on the second and concluding day tomorrow from 10 am onwards.
Around 40 alumni members are participating in various categories of the badminton tournament.
” I am happy to participate in the badminton tournament. The event gave us an opportunity to meet with each other and have some fun playing in the tournament, ” said an alumni member.
