UditVani, Jamshedpur: Young forward Mohammed Sanan continued to impress in yesterday ‘s Jamshedpur FC’s convincing 3-0 win over Mumbai City FC at the Mumbai Football Arena, cementing his growing reputation as one of the league’s rising stars.
His superb finish in the 64th minute broke the deadlock and set the tone for a dominant performance that propelled Jamshedpur FC to third place in the Indian Super League standings.
Reflecting on the team’s consistency and his own standout performance, Sanan credited the collective effort and the support of head coach Khalid Jamil. “I think it’s all about the hard work we put in during training and the support from the coaching staff,” he said. “Coach Khalid Jamil has been instrumental in guiding us and helping us believe in our abilities. Personally, I’ve been focusing on improving my decision-making and composure in crucial moments, and that’s been paying off on the field.”
Sanan’s goal, a stunning finish into the top corner after a perfectly timed run to meet Imran Khan’s inch-perfect cross, was a moment of brilliance.
Speaking about it, he said, “That goal was special for me. When Imran crossed the ball, I knew I had to time my run perfectly to get in between the defenders. I just concentrated on making good contact, and , it went into the top corner. Moments like these are what we play for, and I’m glad I could contribute to the team’s success.”
The young attacker was full of praise for his teammate Imran Khan, whose creative play on the right flank has been a key asset for Jamshedpur FC.
“Imran has been amazing this season. His vision and ability to deliver accurate crosses are incredible,” Sanan said.
As Jamshedpur FC celebrate their ninth win of the season, the atmosphere in the camp is buoyant.
“The morale in the team is really high. Everyone is motivated and focused, and we have a great mix of experienced players and young talent. The bond we share off the field reflects in our performances. Winning matches like this only strengthens our belief in each other,” said Sanan.
Looking ahead to the upcoming challenge against table-toppers Mohun Bagan SG, the forward stressed the importance of maintaining momentum.
“We know how important it is to maintain this momentum. Every match is a challenge, and we’re taking it one game at a time. Our focus is on staying consistent and giving our best in each game. The goal is to secure our position in the top four and make a strong push for the playoffs,” he added
Jamshedpur FC will face Mohun Bagan SG at JRD Tata Sports Complex on January 17.
The match is scheduled to start at 7.30 pm.
