UditVani, Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur FC’s Nikhil Barla had a night to remember as he scored his first-ever Indian Super League (ISL) goal in the team’s 2-0 victory over Mohammedan SC at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan. The young midfielder, a proud Jharkhand native, sealed the win with a composed finish in the 82nd minute, marking a special milestone in his career.
“Scoring my first ISL goal was an incredible feeling, but doing it for Jamshedpur FC made it even more special. It’s a moment I will always cherish, and it motivates me to keep improving and helping the team in every possible way,” Barla said.
The Men of Steel dominated proceedings against Mohammedan SC, with Ritwik Das giving them an early lead in the sixth minute. Jamshedpur FC continued to press forward, creating multiple chances through Jordan Murray and Javi Siverio. Their persistence paid off late in the game when Barla latched onto a precise pass from Imran Khan and smashed the ball into the net, securing three crucial points.
With just three matches remaining in the season, Barla is focused on maintaining his fitness and form as Jamshedpur FC push for a strong finish. “We all know we have three matches left, so I’m focusing on staying fit and healthy. It’s important to take care of myself, keep improving, and give my best in training. The goal is to stay positive, work hard, and aim for victory in every match,” he said.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a smooth transition into the Jamshedpur FC squad, crediting the club for making him feel at home. “My journey with Jamshedpur FC has been incredible. This club feels like home to me, and I’m really happy here. I want to keep growing with Jamshedpur and continue representing the team in the future,” he shared.
Barla also acknowledged the influence of head coach Khalid Jamil in his development. “I have learned a lot from the coach. His guidance has helped me improve my game and build confidence. He always encourages us to express our quality on the field and play with freedom. His motivation, both on and off the field, makes a big difference,” he added.
For Barla, representing Jamshedpur FC is a matter of pride, especially as a player from Jharkhand. “It’s a proud moment for me to represent Jamshedpur FC, especially as a player from Jharkhand. I always give my best in every game, and it feels amazing to contribute to the team. Playing for my home state club is an honor, and I want to make the fans proud,” he said.
