UditVani, Jamshedpur : The inaugural season of the Loyola Alumni Premier League (LAPL) concluded with resounding success, ushering in a vibrant new chapter of alumni engagement and sportsmanship at Loyola.
Over three exciting days at the Loyola School grounds, the tournament brought together passionate alumni cricketers from various batches for a spirited display of competition, camaraderie, and Loyola pride.
Four dynamic teams — Jaguars United, Cheetah Crusaders, Leopard Dynamos, and Panther Warriors — competed in a thrilling league format.
The event drew an enthusiastic crowd of alumni, families, and supporters, creating an electric atmosphere on and off the field.
The grand finale saw a nail-biting clash between Jaguars United and Cheetah Crusaders, with Jaguars United emerging as the proud winners of the LAPL Season 1 Champions Trophy. Standout individual performances were also recognized:
* Best Batsman: Jasraj Khanuja
* Best Bowler: Harshil Dokania
* Player of the Tournament: Jasraj Khanuja
Beyond the boundaries, LAPL Season 1 was a celebration of Loyola spirit — rekindling friendships, forging new connections, and strengthening the alumni network.
The closing ceremony, honored by Fr. Donald Desilva (Dean, XLRI), Fr. Vinod Fernandes (Principal & LAA President), the Jesuits of Loyola, esteemed faculty, and distinguished alumni, praised the organizing team for their outstanding effort and flawless execution.
With Season 1 setting a high benchmark, LAPL is poised to become an eagerly awaited annual tradition.
