Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil has emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum heading into the knockout rounds.
“We have to focus on our own game and improve from the last match. This is our last home game before the playoffs, and we want to give our fans something to celebrate,” he said.
In their last outing, Jamshedpur FC secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Kerala Blasters FC in Kochi.
After conceding in the first half, the Men of Steel showed resilience and equalized late in the game through an own goal forced by Sreekuttan’s cross.
The result ensured Jamshedpur FC maintained their momentum heading into the final stretch of the season while knocking Kerala Blasters out of playoff contention.
Ritwik Das, who has made a strong return from injury, also spoke about the team’s unity and determination.
“The team is more united than ever. Everyone, from the players to the coaching staff, wants to win and improve. That winning mentality has helped us throughout the season, and we want to keep that going in the playoffs,” he said.
Odisha FC have had an inconsistent campaign but remain a dangerous side, with the likes of Roy Krishna and Diego Maurício capable of turning a game around. Jamshedpur FC will rely on their in-form players like Ritwik Das, who recently returned from injury and found the net, Captain Javi Hernandez and Albino Gomez, who has been solid in goal.
With the home fans rallying behind them one last time in the league stage, Jamshedpur FC will aim to put on a strong performance and maintain their unbeaten streak at the Furnace.
