UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jamshedpur FC battled back to earn a crucial 1-1 draw against Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Saturday.
An own goal by Milos Drincic in the dying minutes canceled out Korou Singh’s first-half strike, ensuring Jamshedpur FC walked away with a point from a challenging away fixture.
Having already secured a playoff spot, Jamshedpur FC approached the match with composure. The hosts took the lead in the 35th minute through Korou Singh’s solo effort, but Jamshedpur FC remained disciplined, waiting for their opportunity to strike back.
The second half saw an improved attacking intent from Jamshedpur FC, with Stephen Eze coming close from a corner.
Head coach Khalid Jamil made tactical adjustments, bringing on Mobashir Rehman and Rei Tachikawa to add more control in midfield.
The breakthrough finally came in the 86th minute when substitute Sreekuttan delivered a dangerous cross from the right. Under pressure, Drincic inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net, handing Jamshedpur FC a deserved equalizer.
Jamshedpur FC will now shift focus to their remaining league matches, aiming to build momentum ahead of the playoffs as they face Odisha FC at home on March 5.
