UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jamshedpur FC U-17 booked their place in the semifinals of the AIFF U-17 Elite Youth League with a stirring 2-1 comeback victory over NorthEast United FC on Friday at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium.
Trailing 0-1 at halftime after conceding in the 35th minute, the Young Men of Steel responded with urgency and purpose in the second half.
Just moments after the restart, Rayan C intercepted a defensive lapse and swiftly set up Seram, who assisted Lawmsangzuala for the equalizer in the 47th minute.
Fuelled by momentum, Jamshedpur intensified their attacks and were rewarded again in the 68th minute.
A goalmouth scramble saw the ball fall kindly to Lawmsangzuala, who fired a shot that deflected off a defender and into the net—his second of the match proving to be the winner.
This result sends the Jharkhand-based outfit into the semifinal stage, where they will take on the AIFF-FIFA Talent Academy on May 12 at 8.30 am.
The two sides previously met in the group phase, with Jamshedpur narrowly missing out on the top spot—a storyline that adds extra spice to the upcoming clash.
