UditVani, Jamshedpur : Jamshedpur FC U-17 kicked off their playoff campaign with an impressive 4-0 win over Mumbai City FC in a Group ‘D’ match played at SAI Ground 2 in Guwahati on April 25.
Jharkhand’s Gopal Munda opened the scoring in the 21st minute to give Jamshedpur FC an early lead. The advantage was doubled by RFDL Golden Boot winner Lawmsangzuala in first-half injury time.
Midfielder Alvin Khyriem made it 3-0 early in the second half, and substitute Heeranganba Seram sealed the emphatic win for the young Men of Steel in the dying minutes of the match.
With three points secured, the JFC Academy boys will next face Manipur side Football 4 Change on April 27.
