UditVani, Jamshedpur: In a thrilling finish at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur FC secured a dramatic injury-time victory over AIFF FIFA Talent Academy in the U-17 Elite Youth League opener on Saturday.
Zuala and Heerangamba Seram emerged as the heroes, finding the back of the net in added time to overturn a 1-0 deficit and ensure a winning start for the home side.
AIFF FIFA Talent Academy appeared poised for victory after Rahan Ahmed broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute.
Ahmed capitalised on a defensive lapse by Jamshedpur FC, intercepting the ball and coolly slotting it past the goalkeeper. H
The first half saw Jamshedpur FC dominate possession and create multiple opportunities, with Zuala and Seram coming close to scoring. Despite their attacking intent, both teams entered the break without finding the net.
The game came alive in the second half as AIFF FIFA Talent Academy broke through, only to be stunned by Jamshedpur FC’s late resurgence.
Sachin Singh played a pivotal role in the comeback, delivering two inch-perfect crosses in injury time. His first assist found Zuala, who equalised with a composed finish, sparking hope. Moments later, Singh repeated his brilliance, setting up Seram for the dramatic winner that sealed the three points for Jamshedpur FC.
With this victory, Jamshedpur FC has begun their Elite Youth League campaign on a high note.
They will now prepare for their next challenge, an away fixture against Kolkata’s United Sports on January 21.
