UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a bid to enhance local connectivity and provide greater convenience to daily commuters, the South Eastern Railway (SER) has announced the introduction of two new MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) Passenger train services, effective from June 6.
These trains will serve key routes in Jharkhand, connecting Tatanagar with Chaibasa and Chakulia, and are aimed at improving short-distance travel options for residents, workers, and students in the region.
New MEMU Train Services at a Glance
68137/68138 Tatanagar–Chaibasa–Tatanagar MEMU
Train 68137 will depart Tatanagar at 20:55 hrs and reach Chaibasa at 23:00 hrs.
Train 68138 will leave Chaibasa at 03:20 hrs and arrive Tatanagar at 05:45 hrs.
Stoppages: Adityapur, Gamharia, Birbans, Sini, Mahalimarup, Rajkharswan, and Pandrasali.
This evening and early morning service is expected to facilitate convenient travel for daily workers and business commuters between the industrial hub of Tatanagar and Chaibasa, the administrative headquarters of West Singhbhum.
68128/68127 Tatanagar–Chakulia–Tatanagar MEMU
Train 68128 will depart Tatanagar at 11:00 hrs and reach Chakulia at 12:45 hrs.
Train 68127 will depart Chakulia at 15:00 hrs and reach Tatanagar at 17:00 hrs.
Stoppages: Salgajhari, Govindpur, Asanboni, Rakha Mines, Galudih, Ghatsila, Chirugoda, Dalbhumgarh, and Kokpara.
The mid-day and afternoon timing of this service is likely to be convenient for inter-town travel, particularly aiding small traders, students, and office-goers traveling between East Singhbhum towns and Tatanagar.
