UditVani, New Delhi: Indian Railways has announced plans to operate 13,000 trains (including 10,000 regular trains and 3,000 special trains) during the Maha Kumbh Mela to accommodate the large number of pilgrims.
These trains will operate over a period of 50 days, including 2-3 additional days before and after the event to manage the surge in passenger traffic.
To ensure seamless travel and prevent chaos, the Railways will introduce a uni-directional movement system for passengers. Pilgrims will first be guided to designated ‘Yatri Kendras’ before being directed to their respective platforms. This system is designed to reduce confusion and congestion at stations, providing a smooth and safe experience for all attendees of the event.
