UditVani, New Delhi: The 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) continues to uphold its legacy of celebrating cinematic excellence, embracing the evolving landscape of global entertainment. Reflecting the growing impact of digital content, the Best Web Series (OTT) Award, first introduced at the 54th edition, is now a prominent feature of the festival. This award highlights outstanding storytelling on OTT platforms, marking a transformative moment in the recognition of digital content.
The 55th IFFI will take place in Goa from November 20th to 28th, 2024.
This year, the Best Web Series Award has gained significant traction, with submissions surging by over 40% across 10 major OTT platforms. This growth underscores the increasing prominence of web-based content within India’s entertainment ecosystem. Five exceptional web series have been shortlisted for their artistic brilliance, compelling storytelling, technical finesse, and cultural relevance:
1. Kota Factory
A poignant slice-of-life drama that explores the intense academic pressures of Kota, Rajasthan, India’s renowned coaching hub for competitive exams. The series captures the emotional and mental struggles of young students as they navigate the challenges of education and aspiration.
