UditVani Jamshedpur : The recognition of more than 1,100 NG,Os in Jharkhand is under a threat.
The state government has suspended the registration of organizations not complying with the registration rules and issued a notice to them.
These organizations have been asked why their recognition should not be cancelled .
The Revenue, Registration and Land Reforms Department of the Jharkhand government has taken this action on the continuous complaints of many organizations being run on paper, not submitting annual reports, changing the address without informing the government and violation of many other rules.
The department has also ordered to stop all activities of the identified organizations.
During the period of suspension of registration, the organizations will not be able to transfer any kind of movable or immovable property.
Giving a last chance to such organizations, they have been asked to submit clarification to the department by December 31 in any case.
If the clarification is not given by the stipulated date, then a warning has been given to cancel their registration by taking unilateral action.
When the department reviewed the activities of the registered organizations in the state, it came to light that they are not complying with the rules.
Apart from this, the government is receiving complaints about them from various sources.
Large scale irregularities were found in the documents submitted by many organizations.
There are many organizations that have not submitted a single annual report after registration.
Some organizations have also received grants by going against the rules. All these organizations have come under the purview of action.
Most of these organizations are registered under the Society Registration Act 1860. The department has also decided to review the activities of the trusts registered in the state.
