UditVani, Jamshedpur: Sub- 10 chill was prevailing in several places across Jharkhand bringing back the chill.
Weathermen said Jharkhand is experiencing an extended weather with most places notching below the 13 degree Celsius mark.
The chill made a comeback due to the dominating north-westerly currents which resulted in an abrupt fall in minimum temperature across the state.
In Met parlance it’s winter if the minimum temperature remains below the 13 degree Celsius mark.
Chatra today recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature of 8.5 degree Celsius followed by Khunti and Lohardaga where minimum reading plummeted to 8.6 and 8.7 degree Celsius respectively.
The Celsius dropped to 9 degree Celsius at Simdega while Jagannathpur in West Singhbhum district recorded minimum temperature of 9.8 degree Celsius.
Garhwa recorded minimum temperature of 9.3 degree Celsius.
Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 13.1 degree Celsius while Jamshedpur recorded 14.6 degrees.
Daltonganj today recorded a minimum temperature of 10.6 degree Celsius while Bokaro recorded 11.5 degrees.
Weathermen at IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre said, ” The chill has intensified due to the dominating northerly wind.”
According to weathermen , the maximum temperature would is expected to witness a gradual rise in the next three days.
Winter usually departs during this time of the season but this year it has extended the stay.
