UditVani, Jamshedpur: Most parts of Jharkhand today witnessed rising minimum temperature due to the impact of a Western Disturbance passing through northern parts of the country.
Statistics available from IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre indicated a rise in minimum temperature in all the 24- districts today.
Ranchi recorded minimum temperature of 12.4 degree Celsius today while Jamshedpur recorded 11.4 degree Celsius.
The Palamu region which was in the grip of a severe cold a couple of days back saw rise in mercury.
Daltonganj, the Palamu headquarters today recorded a minimum temperature of 14.3 degree Celsius while Bokaro steel city today notched 13.1 degree Celsius.
Gumla was the coldest place today recording the state’s lowest minimum temperature of 9.9 degree Celsius.
Chatra recorded minimum reading of 12.6 degree Celsius while Garhwa today recorded 13.7 degree Celsius.
Deoghar today recorded a minimum temperature of 13 degree Celsius while Hazaribagh recorded 12 degree Celsius.
The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation was hovering in Punjab and its neighbourhood between 3.1 and 9.4 Km above the mean sea level.
An induced cyclonic circulation over west Rajasthan lies over central parts of north Rajasthan and its neighbourhood extending upto 1.5 Km above mean sea level.
A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India from the
night of January 14.
However, if the forecast of Ranchi Met Centre is to be believed the minimum temperature is again expected to witness a fall from tomorrow.
